I made these four ollas on the morning after I blew up one in a hasty firing. Notice the whiteness on the neck compared to the body. That is a sign of drying. Open forms like bowls dry much faster because air gets on the inside to the same degree it does on the outside. Closed in, or bottle forms, don’t dry near as fast. Most of the moisture has to evaporate from the outside and it takes a while to thoroughly dry one. I think I better make a few more…just in case!
