Close up of Olla

by runningwaterpottery3533

The Olla is the light beige object poking up through the lasagna bed in between the tomato cages. The spacing is roughly 3 feet in between the cages and the olla holds about 1 gallon of water. As I make more ollas, we may install more that will make a pattern where each plant drinks from several ollas. The gound here is like concrete. We did not plant this particular space last year and we are using a no till system. The space was used to store construction debris from the Laney Student Center building project at Wayland. The year before last, this space was 10 feet deep in concrete and steel! Now it will grow produce!
